AGORA COACHING PROJECT: THE NEW EDITION OF THE ADVANCED TRAINING COURSE KICKS OFF

Starting on September 15, the Agora Coaching Project—the advanced dance training course promoted by MMCDC—has entered its seventeenth edition.
A study program for young dancers aged 17 to 22, directed by Michele Merola and Enrico Morelli, the project aims to train versatile artists ready to face an ever-evolving international dance scene. It offers participants a wide range of artistic experiences, bringing them into contact with established choreographers from diverse backgrounds and styles.

Each year, around forty students move to Reggio Emilia to study and refine their skills. In the first part of the year, they will work with several choreographers: in addition to Merola, Morelli, and the MMCDC company dancers, guest artists will include Massimo Gerardi (Artistic Director of the Theater Company of Görlitz-Zittau), Silvia Gribaudi, Salvo Lombardo, and Roberto Tedesco.

The students will also take part in the “Prove d’Autore” project, promoted by the Anticorpi XL Network, where they will work for two weeks with choreographer Michael Incarbone.

This edition also continues the collaboration with I Teatri di Reggio Emilia and the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza, which will see the students performing in school shows at Cavallerizza and public performances at Fonderia.
At the same time, they will have the opportunity to attend performances and open rehearsals by artists and companies featured in the two institutions’ seasons—an experience designed to deepen their knowledge and cultural understanding of dance and theatre.
