Agora Coaching Project

AGORA COACHING PROJECT is an advanced training course, that combines young dancers with international choreographers and directors of international companies.
The course is an annual improvement project in contemporary dance, open to dancers aged between 17 and 24 years, based in Reggio Emilia. Founded in 2010 Agora Coaching Project is directed by Michele Merola ed Enrico Morelli and it’s supported by MM Contemporary Dance Company and Progetto Danza Association.
The project, unique for its innovative features in teaching dance, aims to provide a solid knowledge of the different techniques and styles used in the international contemporary dance companies and to study in deep the different repertoires through alternating qualified teachers and artists. The choreographers, different from each other, are called to provide a preparation as complete as possible to prepare the students to deal with the supply and the demand of the European scene.
In these years, besides Merola and Morelli, the guest choreographers and teachers were:
Tarek Assam (Staatstheater Gießen director), Mauro Bigonzetti (Teatro alla Scala director), Aurelie Cayla and Yvan Dubreuil (Nederlands Dans Theater), Ricardo Fernando (Ballet Augsburg director), Jean Christophe Maillot (Ballet de Montecarlo director), Veli Pekka Peltokallio (Cullberg Ballet), Karl Alfred Schreiner (Gärtnerplatz director, Munich), Emanuele Soavi (Incompany director, Köln), Francesco Ventriglia (Royal New Zealand Ballet director), Ed Wubbe (Scapino Ballet director), Gustavo Ramirez Sansano,  and others.
